I had a great Thanksgiving week.
Paulette and her 3 youngest children came on Friday before Thanksgiving and stayed all week!!!! Mike and Marquis arrived Wednesday night and were here through Thanksgiving weekend. Teresa and her family were able to spend a lot of time here as well! We had a very busy time holding, diapering and feeding babies. It was so nice having them 'home' again for a few days! We shopped, ate, laughed, cried and laughed some more. I enjoyed each minute, knowing that the week would go by way too fast.....and it did! Best friends are hard to find and I have the two best friends in the world!
Thanksgiving day was normal except for one small detail......As the 25 lb. bird was being taken out of the oven some grease spilled onto the bottom coil and burst into flames. We threw some baking soda on the flames and quickly put it out, unfortunately we still had some baking to do. Some of the food came out tasting a little odd - but no one cared. We were having way too much fun. Did I mention that my oven is brand-new?! I've had it exactly 4 weeks today. I got to try the self-cleaning option. It works great! :-)
Godiva certainly proved her worth. As the house filled with smoke she became very insistent that we vacate the premises. She would run up to each of us making sure she had our attention and then run outside. I was a little slow in responding (I was busy trying to set fans up, open windows, etc.) and she didn't like it one bit. She'd stand by the back door and bark to get my attention. I can certainly sleep better at night knowing that she is our 'smoke detector'.
Only one thing one missing, well, maybe 5 things.....the five C's who weren't here with us! They all had wonderful weekends as well with their family that lived nearby.

Definitely need to use that new laptop and post Phoenix dancing. I giggle every time I think of her dancing around the kitchen. How can she move like that! She looks like she is made of rubber.
