The sun is shining for the first time in four days. The official amount of rain that fell on the Cavanaugh home was 28 inches. It rained on and off for two days and just as we thought the worst was over, Fay stalled right on top of us. We had steady, heavy rain for 2 more days.
Our home survived pretty well. We have several leaks in the roof and our florida room ceiling collapsed before we we could get the tarp on. As I drive around town and see the roads washed out and the flood waters inside homes I feel very grateful. Luckily, we live on higher ground (is there such a thing in Florida?) so our home didn't flood. We can handle replacing the roof and repairing a few bedroom ceilings and florida room.
I'm too excited for our trip to Salt Lake and all that has to be done for the wedding to be very concerned about the house. Only 14 days!
