Chandler, Arizona or West Des Moines, Iowa?

It looks like the Cav's will be relocating this summer. We have never been a family that does things the easy way. We have to have a wedding and a relocation within weeks of each other. Of course, it's not just across town but across the country!
Things have not been going well at Tom's office for quite a while now and he's been feverishly looking for new employment. We were hoping we could find something in this area but didn't have any luck. Finally, about six months ago we decided to looking outside the state of Florida a little more aggressively. Well, here we are......Tom has two different opportunities.
West Des Moines has a lot to offer Tom and us as a family. He would be the director of their brand-new 911 center. The money is very good and it would look great on his resume. We would be living in a small suburb of Des Moines. Very country-ish. Only 1 high school and 2 wards. We would be in the Winter Quarters temple district. I have to admit, that sounds great! It would be very exciting for me to be in that district because I had family whom as pioneers lived in Winter Quarters. The church history has always fascinated me and I would be able to be among all the sites! We would still be in an area with a small Mormon community and I like that.
Chandler also has a lot to offer us. He would be the support manager over the call center. It is a smaller company and will give Tom a lot of experience as he builds the support center from the ground up. It would be challenging and very rewarding. The salary isn't quite as much as in Iowa and the cost of living is a little higher. The opportunity for an increasing salary is greater then for the 911 center. Their are more Mormons there and Zac and Cait wouldn't be 1 of 4 or 5 Mormons in the entire school. The biggest pull Chandler has for me is that we would be closer to our family. Only 5 hours from Tom's mother, 7 hours to Salt Lake, 10 hours to Spokane. Paulette and Teresa have family there so it would be easier for them to visit us. Teresa was actually raised there and has all ready connected me with her sister. It is extremely important to me to be connected to my best friends. It will be much easier to do that in Arizona than in Iowa.
Well, that settles it. After putting everything in writing I've decided that Arizona it is. My family and friends are SO important to me and it's worth it to me to make a little less money in order to be closer to them.
Keep a happy thought - we should know for sure what we are going to do sometime in May (if not sooner).

Paulette agrees with the Arizona move, she flat out refuses to go any place else that gets below 40 degrees. Paulette said she is just kidding I would visit you anywhere. I PROMISE!
